How to get here?
Access: Alaska Marine Highway System and highway (the nearest town is Skagway 350 miles away by land). Small plane air service is available from three bush carriers (Alaska Seaplanes, Wings of Alaska and Harris Aircraft Services). Unfortunately the State ferry terminal is four miles out of town. The Haines-Skagway Fast Ferry uses the Port Chilkoot dock 1/2 mile from downtown and is the most convenient. Cruise ships regularly visit Haines.
